Nope, they will not make you hallucinate and they do not contain any psilocybin! While these mushrooms have magical and powerful impacts on your health, they are 100% legal and are not drugs.
When you are totally new to consuming functional mushrooms, we suggest that you start with one serving per day. Our products contains a full dose of functional mushrooms with a minimum of 1500 mg/serving. After a few days, you can start building your routine with up to 3-4 servings per day. So yes, we use the whole fruiting body but we also use a blend of mycelial biomass – as mycelium is the primary and most bioactive stage of the mushroom life cycle and is full of polysaccharides, prebiotic fibers, neurotrophic and immune-supporting compounds.The truth is, both mushroom mycelium and mushroom fruiting bodies offer health benefits. The bars are sweetened with a dash of Tapioca Syrup, which is derived from Cassava, a naturally occurring tuberous root. This sustainable, organic sweetener provides great taste without any artificial funk, and only 5g total sugar per bar.
The products contain 11g total protein from Brown Rice Protein and Pea Protein.
Yes, the bars contain nut butters and diced nuts.
Yes! Our direct to consumer box and envelopes are made from 100% recycled content, 95% post-consumer waste, curbside recyclable, and naturally biodegradable. Our retail boxes are recyclable and FSC certified. The only exception is the bar wrapper, which in the near future (when our supplier releases the product) will also be compostable.
Yes, all Balanced Tiger suppliers have USDA Organic Certifications, which means the food is sustainably produced all the way back to the farm!

Our mushrooms are sustainably cultivated in California using very little energy, our boxing supplier was 1 of 10 California companies to make the Green Team Honor Roll, our mushroom boxes are naturally grown in 7 days and compost into the soil in less than 30, and our product manufacturer is SQF and is partially run on solar power. SQF codes are designed to meet the highest regulatory requirements for all sectors of the food supply chain — from farms all the way to retail stores. We have and will continue to look for the best and most sustainable suppliers in the industry.
Yes. All of our products are subject to a three step process. Our supplier provide us with their testing specs per batch, we run our product through metal detectors during manufacturing, and then post-manufacturing we have our manufacturer lab test for heavy metals and other contaminants to meet and exceed industry standards.
Room temperature is recommended, however they also taste wonderful refrigerated.
